Solitaire is a single-player card game where the goal is to sort all the cards into foundation piles by suit and in order from Ace to King. The most common version of Solitaire is called Klondike Solitaire.
Cards Needed
Solitaire is played with a standard 52-card deck.
Goal of the Game
The goal is to move all cards to four foundation piles, one for each suit, in order starting with Ace and ending with King.
Setup
To set up Solitaire:
Deal seven piles of cards from left to right.
The first pile has 1 card.
The second pile has 2 cards.
The third pile has 3 cards.
Continue until the seventh pile has 7 cards.
Only the top card of each pile is face up.
The remaining cards form the draw pile.
Gameplay
Players move cards between the piles using these rules:
Cards must be placed in descending order.
Cards must alternate colors (red on black, black on red).
Only Kings can be placed in empty spaces.
Aces are moved to the foundation piles to start building each suit from Ace to King.
Draw Pile
If you cannot make a move, you draw cards from the draw pile. These cards can be played if they fit the rules.
Winning the Game
You win Solitaire when all cards are moved to the foundation piles in order from Ace to King for all four suits.
